Who ya got?
Who ya got?
Heidelberg looks strong
Lebron
If i had to guess I would say:
1) Allegheny- Could be very strong if Violette is healthy. Either way they will be very good.
2) Ohio Northern- Returns almost everyone. No studs but a great pack.
3) Calvin- Should be very solid wih top 2 returning. Will definitely have a good pack behind them.
4) Wabash- Lost alot from last year. A stud frosh could make this team dangerous
5) Mount Union- Biggest dark horse IMO. Some guys had some great track season but have yet to prove it on the course.
6) John Carroll- Always see good track times out of these guys, but can never get i done in xc.

Predictions, prior to conference week:
MEN:
Calvin
Mt Union -Ohio Northern
Wabash
(Allegheny)
Calvin did well at Oshkosh (ahead of Wash U). Mt Union was a surprise winner at Rochester, looked great (but that was a while ago now); OH Northern did well at Oshkosh, but well back of Calvin (:23 per mile, Calvin had 4 before OH N's 1st).
I don't think Allegheny will make it out of regionals, unless they have an uptick in performance.
WOMEN:
Calvin
Hope
Otterbein - Allegheny - Oberlin
Calvin has looked strong all season. Hope and Allegheny both seemed a bit down in their last meets compared to earlier. In fact, the prior relative performances for #s 2-5 seem to depend more on who was healthy. I suspect Regionals will come down to who is "on". 5 are currently ranked, but I doubt the region will get 5 bids. Otterbein did the region a favor with strong 6th at Rowan (as did Allegheny to a lesser extent, in 9th); and Calvin likewise at Oshkosh (right between Wash U and U Chi). Oberlin did well at Rochester and at their own inter-regional, where the field was a bit weaker than past years (I think Waynesburg is coming on strong, watch for them to place 4th-6th in Mideast region).
OK, most of the conference have been held, and to update:
MEN
OH Northern looked really strong, solidly defeating Mt. Union.
But Calvin also looked great, scoring 27 in their conference (note that host Albion was impressive 2nd with almost all-frosh team).
Wabash & Allegheny go tomorrow in their conference (at LaVern Gibson, so don't expect blazing times)
WOMEN:
Hope upset (in my mind) Calvin; so I'd probably put those 2 at the top of the heap.
Big surprise was John Carroll, which has run well but still well behind Otterbein up to now, come on and tie Otterbein in their conference. That puts them solidly in the mix.
Allegheny & Oberlin go tomorrow (again at LaVern Gibson)
