This question gets asked multiple times in various forms each and every week.
And I'm pretty sure it's the same person.
The answer is definitively "no." No exceptions or caveats.

Twist on this question, would cycling make you a slower runner?

Haha amazing handle steal.

And of course cross training will help your running. Especially for a beginner. Even elites use cross training to save the legs sometimes.
No idea what the guy who said no is talking about.

NO

There is an exception, actually. If you are really severely out of shape, anything that improves your general fitness will make you run faster. If I'm 300lbs, and I lose 100lbs by cycling, I will run faster as a result.

The only handle steal I've seen so far was a low-lying homophobic jab in another thread. I'd register this name but I'm too lazy to type a password every time I shitpost because this browser won't auto-input for me 😔
I actually cycle too primarily in winter or during base. I feel like it makes me "poppy" and quickens my turnover in lieu of, or to supplement, speed work.
This question has been asked and answered a thousand times. Which is why I'm thinking troll.
I am having this struggle right now. Its hot out and I like cycling. It gives me more time outside and its fun to go fast... Someday I may even be a "cyclist" but at this point in time Im still trying to take big steps in the marathon and battle it out with the leaders in my local ultras.
I feel soo sluggish after a big ride day. An easy run is all I can really muster.
I will continue to follow the thread but really have nothing pertinent to add.
The struggle is real. Hah.
