I thought the plan was to run in the Boston meet. He's not on the start line, and isn't in any of the high school meets either. Is he injured/sick? I think some troll randomly said he had Lyme Disease and was shutting it down for the season earlier in the week, which I didn't believe, but now he appears to be pulling out of meets. Anyone know what's up?

That race ain't happened yet. He's not on the start line because they have not made second call.
list*, excuse me. I don't think it's bad if he shut down his season, and it might even help his first year at Oregon, but I'm just curious. Everything he does is treated with such fanfare, but this isn't.
It may be that both he and Slagowski are done for the season.

He is on the start list for the boys DMR at New Balance
It is odd as his coach talked about his 2mi and 5k shape so figured he would at least do one of those and go for a fast time.
He had also talked about trying to get a trials standard...
Unless he is on an all star team I'm not clear what the point of an end of season DMR .

i thought i remembered that he was gonna run a pro race in Boston, but didn't see him on start lists
i think i remember him saying from beginning of the season that penn would be his last big hs race (with only other hs races being quadruple at VA state meet trying to win team title)

Looks like Hunter is done. He posted a good luck message to his younger brother on Instagram for the weekend when he goes down to nationals, which implies that Hunter isn't going down himself. So, he's done. For the season anyway. Can't wait to see what he does in XC.

If he has Lyme this might be the end. I have it and its hell to even get up from bed and goign for a short run can feel like a marathon. But maybe he doesnt if he has kept going. Just wait a little bit more to see whats happening.
His mom posted here up until the end of last summer and I assume they still watch the boards. The radio silence is a little troubling. Hopefully it's just a minor injury or sickness, and not actually anything seriously impactful.

That is too bad. He was marginally better than Fisher and the best talent the US has seen come along since Ritz and Webb in 2001 or maybe Fernandez/Derrick. It would have been great for him to try for a fast 2M and 3000m and 5000m. He said in the Winter that he was more of a 2miler. Now, maybe even he was wrong about that as he achieved a 1:48 800m and a 3:58 mile. Nobody expected a 1:48, but remember that he was one of the best 2milers as a soph (Penn Relays 3k record) and then he beat Fisher last year closing fast with an 8:43.
It seems it was logical to shoot for a sub-8:00 outdoors, a sub-8:40 2M, and a sub-13:40 5k.
I realize that he KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING AND KNOWS HIMSELF and his needs/goals ... and that I know nothing. But had he done those things he would have been faster than all the legends at 800/Mile/3000/2M/5000.
As it stands now he is faster than Lindgren at 800, and ran faster at the Mile once. But slower than several guys who ran 20, 30, 40 and 50 years ago.
The lyme's disease is true. Heard it from multiple people and sources. Drew isn't talking about until maybe later this week or early week.
