Keep in mind the coast is still a 75 min drive from Eugene. If you want to camp a little closer look in the Dexter/Lowell/Oakridge areas southeast of town in the national forest.
Bend is about 2.5 hours away. Jefferson, Bachelor, Sisters are all up there. Smith rock state park is a really cool place to check out. Crater lake is a bit of a drive, and albeit there really isn't much to do up there.. but it's really cool.

Food:
Spendiest but delicious is Oregon Electric Station. Al Sal was actually a co-owner of this place when he was still in Eugene. Happy hour cocktail list isn't too bad.
Rye is VERY good, but the main dishes are over $20. However, if you want some delicious poutine with duck on it you can get a large portion of it for $7 off their appetizer menu, or the large for $10 is enormous. Killer cocktail menu as well.
Papa's Soul Food for BBQ
Off the Waffle for brunch food.
Glenwood for breakfast food.
Wild Duck is solid. Not bad but not stand out crave their food.
Steelhead
If you want some REALLY good sushi, check out Mame in the whit neighborhood. Tiny green door, you'll walk right by it. Only seats about 15 people. Call ahead, if not by a few days, and put in a reservation. Slap down $30 for the chefs special. It's worth it.
Sabai has very good thai food.
