What's Braziers 1500 time, mile time? If he doesn't have one and is an 800 guy, don't compare him to Webb who was a 1500,miler with range to 10,000 meters.

So who places better, him or Murphy?
good question
USA should have a pretty good 800 team if everyone stays healthy and that doesn't include the advertising man.
Pretty sure he ran like 4:08-4:09 in high school

Guess his coach was right last year when he claimed that Brazier was the best runner in the nation, not Grant Fisher.
Insane! Breaking Ryun's record on the 50th anniversary is very special. Congrats to Brazier!
I would be willing to beat that one of the happiest people to see the record topped is Jim Ryun. Not only exactly 50-year old collegiate record, but his junior record as well.
If you want more info on Brazier's background, go here as I've put up a bunch of links at the top from last year on him:

I'm sorry. Someone asked on one of the other threads. I'll try to get a better grip on reality.

Not quit. More the 0.7 seconds
From the NCAA results
College Best Jim Ryun - Kansas 1:44.3h 6/10/1966
800m Finals 6/10/2016
1 Donavan Brazier FR Texas A&M 1:43.55
Absolutely incredible.
The American Rudisha is 19 years, 2 months old.
I think he can go 1:42. He was so smooth!

This is America - we believe in birth certificate conspiracies!!!
On a serious note,i f you are Murphy, do you think about moving to the 1500 now?
I guess not. He did beat Berian in his last race and just smoked the field in the 1500!!
But the 800 at the Trials is going to be amazing if Brazier runs it. Nick Symmonds might be in trouble actually.
One of the following would be left home - Symmonds, Beran, MUrphy and Brazier.
But I'd be tempted to do the 1500 if I was murphy and i'd be kicking myself for not running hard to the line as he could have gotten the standard.Let's Brazier's 143 made him want to switch events. Well Murphy would have to go get the standard in Europe next week which would mess up his preparations for the Trials which start in 3 weeks.
Murphy actually is confident. He's in the form of his life and Berian and Brazier aren't known for consistency and Symmonds hasn't broken 1:47 this year.
One should NEVER doubt Symmonds as he's clutch but he's got to be nervous as hell now as well. Maybe they can get Brazier to do US juniors instead of the Trials. I hope not.
Run the Trials Brazier. PLEASE

Rojo, can you change the title? DB has earned the coveted Letsrun MF thread title: Donovan MF Brazier!
