Braziers best races have been when he leads out front. Finals are about competing not times so I am excited so see how he does Friday. I see him being top 3
McBride
Walker
Brazier
Some individuals feed off the energy of being in front much like the prelim today. Not putting limits on brazier because that was a phenomenal time and with little effort but I don't see him winning this NCAA title
Well said. Agreed
Brandon McBride's performance was significantly better. He basically even split his 1:45.4. And is going to crush the final on Friday.

Genzebe Dibaba is pulled out of Oslo again. what is next then ...may be pulled out of Rio
I know the thread starter. Notorious troll. He sent me a message this morning saying that he no longer feels safe on the boards. Low energy. Probably an illegal too. Make letsrun great again and build the wall! Claim LRC back from the illegal trolls.
800M final
McBride- 1:43 high
Walker- 1:44 high
Brazier- 1:44 higher
Rutto- 1:45 low
Hernandez- 1:45 high
Harris- 1:45 high
And if Murphy or Kidder were in the race, I'd have Murphy right around 1:44 high and Kidder 1:45 low, I really wish they were in this, it would be the fastest NCAA 800m race of all time, they would take the other 2 spots
When in a NCAA final has 8th place ever broken 1:46? Ridiculouso!
I thin the guy (Walker) that only ran 1:47 in the qualifying would be the favorite. Brazier might have blown his wad already.
early POTD candidate, I LOL hard

How does everyone think he will do at the trials? :)
I'm not sure what "wrote him off" means, but I've never heard of him and I doubt that he's likely to trouble Rudisha, Amos, Aman etc. any time soon...
I suppose this is some kind of parochial US college thing?
Jog: to go at a slow, leisurely, or monotonous pace
It might have been relaxed, but it was not slow, leisurely, or monotonous.
I hope he wins the finals. I hope he becomes our next great 800 runner. But there are no points for looking relaxed and easily winning a preliminary. No one gaining to remember how he "jogged" a 1:45 at the 2016 NCAA heats.

While you're at it, look up the definition of hyperbole.
Actually I'm pretty sure it was worth 1:45.07.

It's worth 1:45.03. Nothing is 'worth' anything except the actual time. If he never goes faster (which I highly doubt, dude has many great years ahead of him) there won't be an asterisk next to this time saying: *Eased up and jogged the last part so it's worth 1:44, y'all.

Partly agree, but you can say that he looked as if he could go faster. That is a simple observation. Putting a number to it, I agree, is a very difficult (and often silly) thing to do.
If he ran 1:45 walking the last 100m because he was so far ahead we could say he can run faster if he made an effort the whole way.
We can say that after that performance Brazier looks as though he can break 1:45. I think that is fair.

Rojo, settle. No one jogs a 1:45.
Yes, they do.

Why?
Donovan Brazier and Isaiah Harris will both be top 3
