Don't know how accurate the tracker is but FWIW it took it about 12' to cross the ~1km bridge over the Mississippi. In which case I guess he's walking.
Woutwr I agree with the FKT v WR thing. My opinion is that it can only be a world record if it's repeatable anywhere. So a distance amor time etc. Otherwise it's a fkt or course or race record. But as you say a world record sounds better for publicity and lots of people are claiming stupid records about how many Marathons in how many days etc. But the US has has similar problems like Lipton and the dentist bloke etc.
I agree he has put himself in a position of scrutiny and now everything will be looked into. Myself and others have also advised him to do it right and upload everything properly etc.
I ran the viking wat when you ran it(i dnf'ed)
I respect your views but just because most of people views are based on how many supporters are on the pages supporting him don't think a lot of us are not doubting or sceptical of home or similar people. We don't always choose to say it so publicly as the supporters and with respect you know less of the feeling in the UK than I do.

Looks like he did about 30 miles in the last 12 hours.

Exactly. The Brits allow their country to be overtaken by Islam, so I am not really surprised they believe all Rob's lies. Weak people.

I want to return to this article that Hertfordshire Insider posted. I have many questions about this, especially if the details are true. I'm not familiar with Hertfordshire or this website or this news archive "archive.is". Is this article for real? Or could it be a pseudo/fabrication, maybe by Rob back in 2004 to boost his credentials, or by a detractor this week to make Rob look like a fraud?
The article is real. Don't know about the content.

We've had our own marathonman a few years back over here. But at least that one didn't make any superhuman claims. His main sin was suggesting that his claims were superhuman. And the press ate it all. I also suspect that one of cutting a few corners when nobody was watching, but nothing as extreme as what we are seeing now.
Bedoel je de marathon man van Gent? Hij kreeg inderdaad enorm veel aandacht van de media.
Rob Young is a bad runner. A cheater. His supporters are dropping dramatically.
Hi Rob - Here is a great song for you to play in the RV

Thank you. Very interesting. From his website this is supposedly more or less miles 300-350? I don't know what time of the day this was, but I think it is remarkable that he slows down significantly, while I would expect that someone who has been running non-stop for three days and nights is rather at a plateau. Also remarkable that this is the only part for which the website mentions place names. I have no idea where all the rest was run.
If Andy is still here, can he tell us around what time they left London?

Ja, die bedoel ik.
There are some guidelines on the Guiness records site for submitting an application for this record, here are some extracts I found interesting.
"Witness statements are statements of authentication from independent* individuals who verify all
relevant details of a record attempt. At attempts where Guinness World Records representatives are
not present, these witnesses are essentially the eyes and ears of our Records Management Team. They
are tasked with observing the entire record attempt, confirming whether all Guinness World Records
guidelines have been followed, and providing a detailed account to us of precisely what took place.
Without this independent verification, it is impossible for us to approve your record attempt.
*In a select few cases, it may not be possible for witnesses to be completely independent, especially in the case of certain medical
records. Please consult your Records Manager or your Specific Guidelines to determine if this applies to your record attempt.
What does “independent†mean?
An independent witness is an individual who is neither affiliated with nor related to the individual or
group attempting the record, the record organisers, participants, venue, or any persons involved with
staging the event, nor should these individuals have anything to gain from the outcome of the attempt.
The witnesses must also be independent of one another, except in those cases where officials from a
specific professional body are required to verify the record, e.g. a national sporting organisation."

I find it hard to believe that either the current attempt or previous ones actually had such a witness?

No shame in that. Even the few who finished were very close to the cut-off.
And you are certainly right that the UK is not in itself more gullible than the US or other regions. We are looking with the wisdom of hindsight.

It says starting time 9:58PM.

East of the MS is ultra geezer turf. Rob Young doesn't know what he is getting into.

It's faster that way because that's the direction the Earth moves.

I am confident this record attempt costs north of $100,000.
But he is doing this for the children!
Add Skins and Lucozade to that list.
