I put it to you, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, that Mr Young has had the intention to start a business of hosting running events since at least 2010, and this whole ‘Marathon Man UK’ episode has been to generate publicity for himself in order to achieve that aim.
The prosecution rests.
domain registered before Rob's 20p bet and that first marathon? In his book he says thoughts were spinning in his head about how to raise money for his charities after the bet and during the first marathon and afterwards. Seems like the whole idea to become a professional charity runner was hatched prior to the 20p bet.
