Important data, especially about the Thames Meander Marathon. Look at it this way arranged by date and also notice his mediocre Parkrun 5K times did not improve miraculously from before he became a marathoner on April 14 for the rest of the year. The 5K times did gradually improve but with no extraordinary jumps.

His 8 marathon races in 2014 indicate a range of 3:46 to 4:56 which makes the claims of initial 3:19 and 3:28 marathons highly unlikely if they were truly on a whim without any serious training. The 5K times, which gradually improved over the course of 2014, indicate he had the potential to run 3:20-3:30 for a marathon IF he had proper long-distance training (not just shorter 5K training) and was race-ready.
The problem is still that he claims to have run his 2 fastest marathon times in 2014 on a whim, without specific training, as part of 78 miles in 48 hours of time, and he never posted a marathon race time within 18 minutes of either for his actual 8 marathon races that year.
So comparing his book claims of the first three marathons to his own Facebook and mapmyrun data, he changed the order, starting times, and routes with literary license for his alleged first three marathons. (The net times for each still matched, except "3:28" for 3:27:53.)
Now based on his cumulative race results, the 3:19 and 3:28 are noticeable outliers to the 3:46-4:56 range he posted for 8 actual marathon races in 2014.
Looks like the legend of the first 3 marathons possibly grew in two stages.
Stage One: He exaggerated in April 2014 when he posted on mapmyrun and Facebook that he ran 3:19, 3:28, and 4:07 for 26.2 miles in two days time. He exaggerated either the distance or time or both. Maybe he ran 20 miles in 3:19, for example, or 26.2 miles in 4:19 but called it 3:19.
Stage Two: He changed the Facebook and mapmyrun data regarding the order, starting times, and routes when he and Dustin wrote the book that was published in April 2016. Thus, according to the book, he dramatically ran 4:07 on Monday AM, then 3:28 (faster!) nine hours later on Monday PM, and then 3:19 (even FASTER!) seven hours later on Tuesday AM. And then continued with 7 more "marathons" in the next 5 days. When he embellished the route description in the book, this inadvertently also calls into question the verification of these runs by Joanna and Eva since they could not possibly be positioned where he claims in the book.
Unfortunately, after the spectacle of his trans-America record attempt, it's difficult to take any of his claims at face value.
