Your level of delusion is laughable.
Your level of delusion is laughable.
What some tend to forget is that Rob was actively manipulating Wikipedia pages back in 2012 (about his pro cycling career), before he even was Marathon Man.
And even back in 2004 he was claiming to be a world tri champion.
Come on ASHER
Man up and admit your mistake

Seems like there is a lot of confirmation bias on this thread. Even if you discount the security camera video, this thread is just rehashing the same data over and over again. Yeah, it seems likely the guy is cheating but I agree with some other posters that the LRC community looks like a bunch of petty haters at this point. You've put our your evidence, just wait until the show ends and they put out their evidence, and we'll see who's right.
Kind of like the people over at ultralist who hate on Karnazes.

Haha, very good.
Weird how the posters complaining about the posters denigrating/mentioning Rob's past don't realize they're just kicking the subject along and drawing more attention. Also, that this is the world wide web, they don't seem to get the "world wide" bit and the potential to get all sorts of comments from all sorts of people, FMD even Hitler got a mention yesterday. So lighten up fellas or take your crusade somewhere else, we'll decide what we want to read and take on board.
This is the best logical, mathematical description of his cheating I've seen yet. But having perused this thread and the evidence jpgs, this raises two questions for me. Does the trajectory of the truncated tomtom section suggest he took the highway or the path through the desert? The path through the desert seems to be "more" realistic (albeit unlikely) than the extra mileage on the roads. But if he did go through the desert, then why is he saying he did 36 miles?
There's no point to even acknowledge this attempt.
The resources were readily and easily available for him to publicly document his attempt and progress from the very beginning. All he needed was a couple garmins to rotate out and and a quick upload to a free public strava account as he completed his runs.
The tracking methods he's using are overly complicated, not transparent, and do nothing to prove his attempt. The only reason your would chose a more complex and less transparent method over an easy and widely available method is because you aren't actually completing the attempt and need to control the data on your own terms to paint the picture that you actually are.

Haha, says a lot about you Andy.
But then I guess this says a lot about you too.

Mate, you don't seem to get it, they won't put out the evidence that this thread has been requesting from them since it started, they haven't yet done the simple thing that thousands of runners/hobby joggers do every day, so why would they when the show ends?

Yep, the system works.
Yes, it does. The post you didn't like is gone. Next time don't cite the offending post, just report it. That makes life easier for the moderators.
Now, as the oh-so-nice-person you are I expect that you apologize and that you thank me for teaching you forum basics.

Are you sure you get it? Do you think they would have had this level of interest if they had posted it all from the start?
Oh I've found myself back. Must be time for another flounce.

Right! They cheat just to pump up the interest.

I and another had the same thought. The truncated TomTom segment doesn't show the thumbnail, but you can see from the other thumbnails that they seem to be centered, so if they have any significant north-south, that part of the segment should be visible above the Windows menu bar, but it isn't, which suggests it is an E-W oriented track.
If you back-track from the Riverside Casino exactly 21.9 miles, the track looks like this:
http://i.imgur.com/NUYzODr.png.
In that graphic, the 21.9 mile track is red, the yellow track is the RV track for the day, and the green tracks are the previous TomTom track ending at 8:19am and the next two TomTom segments above the truncated entry, which start at 20:55 (All times Pacific).
There's no way they can produce a credible GPS track through the desert for 21.9 miles, even if they doctored it and wanted to disregard Rob's own claim to "about 36 miles". As the crow flies, you can follow 95 north, then beeline across the mountains in 22 miles from the 8:18am segment, but anybody with a brain can see that a straight line is not possible in that terrain. There is a road that follows that trajectory through the mountains but it is actually quite sinuous and would probably contribute to a 30 mile run with lots of vert.

I reported it right when it was posted. It stayed up for at least an hour on a heavily trafficked thread that has been looked at by several national media writers.
Go register for a Slowtwitch account and post the same link on a busy thread. See how long it stays up and what happens to your account and your IP address. Try the same thing on a gamethread tonight on one of the SBnation sites for the Warriors or Cavs. Try it on the r/running subreddit.
It's 2016. These issues have long since been sorted out by sites that make it a priority. It clearly isn't a priority here.
It is 4pm local time. I've been watching his progress on RY's website. The RV went past the Admiral gas station and now it is back. Are they done for the day? Seems like they had a very long day and I'm curious if they plan on having a 6pm start time again today. Would love to know if Laz or Ray have an update.
While it seams that he did cheat out west, there is no reason to beat a dead horse.
