I prefer Fake Laz's reports to those of the "laz character".

Listen. Laz is there. That's all you little tumbleweed let's run people need to know. He's going to the job that needs to be done. Something you people can't do.
Yes. We established that he is there a long time ago. What is in question is what is this "job that needs to be done"?
Because he makes his coin writing, I expect nothing coming from him of any value for the public for free.

Would it make sense to contact his Flyby's?

So this "laz" is a down there to make a buck? Can anyone in two sentences tell me what kind of person is this?
And no, I'm not gonna watch any documentary with this clown.

The guy is on the Mount Rushmore of ultra-running. And is perhaps the most respected among his peers.
The possibility of Laz seeking financial benefit for this venture is amusing. Check out the entry fee cost for Barkley:

It was a mistake to send a Ultra Race Director. We don't need a referee. We should have sent a 16 year old kid with the latest IPhone. We would have an abundance of media to, enjoy, critique and dissect.
I'd like more updates from the Geezers too, but they took the time to go out there. At the very least we know that the rest of the trip will be ran honestly.
BUT. I would suggest that they upload strava data from their own watches for some of Rob's runs. It'll give us an idea of his pacing for the day, when he runs, and most importantly it'll show the fans that Rob could be doing it too.

You must hate your life. I'm sorry.
Come on guys, FOCUS. Laz is down there, who the heck cares? Good for him. That's the end of it. Let's not get distracted and lose focus. Our goal is still to get RY to provide data for the FIRST part of the trip. He's going to "run" the rest of the way, he has to at this point. We need to re-focus our efforts back on the original goals of proving his PBs, proving his mileage from the west, and us working to find any footage of him running at a slower pace than he claims or not running at all. FOCUS.
Asher > Laz

Every couple of miles there is a mile that shows zero time/distance. What's going on here? Strava is still counting it as a mile though.

Asher is God. While Laz is the Pope of the Ultra Church.

"Since an online forum called “Robert Young’s Fake Run Across America†surfaced last Wednesday, his pace has slowed to roughly 50 miles a day."
havent read the all the posts but this is enough evidence for me.

It's ok. I used to be angry as well.
Rob managed to do the 20 miles From Effingham to Greenup in about 4hrs. That's a cool 5mph, well above his average of the last few days.

OK then, the world best for road 100 km (pretty close to 70 miles) is 6:13:33, or 5:18 pace. If this RY guy ran 70 miles just under 6 min pace DURING a multi-day (MANY multi-day) run, then wow. I mean, c'mon.
100km is actually just over 62 miles, so nowhere near 70.
60 miles = 95.6km
70 miles = 112.7km

LOL Comments like this is why I wake up each morning a little bit earlier to read this thread.
He is of course right up there with MLK and Nelson Mandela according to one of his worshippers.
