What is the link to the ultra thread? Just imagine this was actually Rob's crew faking Laz's? I think only we can get true confirmation there unless Rob posts photos to give cred to his lies

Umm... ever heard of Asher Delmott?
Asher was the only one from LRC who had balls. There had to be hundreds of LRC folks located not far from Rob's route who could have jumped into their cars and followed over the last couple days or today for that matter. I live in Fort Lauderdale. If I was in the Eastern Mo area, I would have been tailing him today. LRC is all talk, but when the rubber meets the road, nobody from LRC went.
First of all, big props to Laz and team for putting RY's safety first. No investigation should ignore what sounds like a dangerous situation for the target.
Second: I have here a huge slice of humble pie which I am sincerely hoping I need to eat, along with a huge glass of Restored Faith In Humanity.
As I expressed to another poster on this forum through Facebook, although I believe he was cheating (justified in his head so he's probably in genuine shock at how this has unfolded), he seems to be trying to go clean now.
I would love to see him finish the challenge clean, recorded, legitimately. Sure, there will be no record, but an achievement beyond the wildest dreams of most hobby joggers like me is a heck of an inspiration. I've never run a recorded HM, only run that distance twice in training, I look up to people who have ability, physiology and willpower to run ultra.
But I loathe liars, I loathe cheaters, I despise conmen. There are special circles of hell reserved for them and they deserve every never-deleted-from-Google misdemeanour which dogs their future footsteps.
Humble pie and a public apology is one set of GPS data away...

BS. There are not hundreds near the sticks of Misery or southern IL. Before calling others out, jump on a plane and do your share.
I am in NYC area so it is pretty much useless for me but if he was w/n 20 miles of me, I would be driving out there. Why not? I just don't think there are many LRC posters on his route. It is a big country with lots vast emptiness.

Can Laz sign in with a handle from a handle from now on because there will be imposters posting under his name and confusing already a very long thread. I am very interested in his reporting.
The sound to noise ratio should improve a little tomorrow once all the kids are back in school ;-)
Now, let's sit back and wait for an assessment of whether Mr. Young's present efforts yield any inkling that his earlier weeks of 70+ mile days could have been a possibility.

RY is surely a genuinely nice guy.

How can you be a nice guy when you are robbing charities?
There is no data he could post which would explain his previous lies about his PRs and the desert incident. Not to mention the speeds with which he achieved some of his daily totals.
If he cheated even a little bit earlier on then in my eyes finishing it is worthless. If you really loathe cheaters and liars then there should be no redemption for Rob.

Maybe he got really good sunscreen when he was having fun in the casino back in the days that he was also laying down serious miles and running 10mph or something. He had the time.
+1
Also note his quads! Overall his grand shape, and elegant running style, are comparable to Honest Mike's. No wonder they have virtually the same mary PR.

Some ultra runners, the vast majority, are really full of themselves. Insufferable. They take over message boards and go look at me look at me, I can't run fast but I can go 90 miles, 95 150, 1000. And their little cadre of fans goes whoo whoo!
Wrong thread dumb dumb. Now scurry along Lil feller.

It's on the ultralist, an email listserve. Can confirm that it indeed came from Laz, although I could also just be Robert Young.

If the Natty dude never stopped bragging about his great friends who were on their way I guess things would have played out quite differently.
Bottom line. We care enough to watch the movie but not enough to waste our time and money driving thousand miles to the sticks to follow a RV! I can't imagine what the wife would say if I told them I was leaving family and driving three states away to bust a fake ultra runner.
Nah, just a little different in a good way.

Rob was close to St Louis last night. That excuse doesn't fly.

Operation Turtle Geezer was already underway with the fundraising and dispatch plan before Asher's post, but yes, that vid and LRC attention that followed really blew this up.

I'd happily come along if someone paid my plane flights and accommodation.
Anyone who complains that people aren't out there can only do so if they are already out there - unless of course they are big hypocrites.

I'm far to old to be a dude and there was no bragging, just a periodic reminder to the playground that someone was taking action, even if it was not happening fast enough for your attention span.
And Rob passed by Ferguson yesterday. Don't tell me there are no LRC people within 100 miles of that town.
