Cheserek has great top end leg speed that the others don't have.

Cheserek is probably 15-20 seconds better than these guys over 5k if he ever attempted to PR. Nothing they can do.

Kincaid had the fastest final 400!!! And beat Ches twice, obviously the real champ
Tiernan and McGorty did all they could really do. 2 seconds off their PRs in a race that wasn't just a TT and slow second and third laps.
i agree, chesarek is just that much better. Tiernan took the approach of the grinding laps early, and mcgorty tried the extended kick from 600 out, nothing worked. The only other alternative might be to try and turn it into a jog fest like the USA 5000 was a few years ago, where the winning time is north of 1415.
I think they need to push Ches to a pr

What the hell happened to Awad? I really thought he was going to do it this year. He had a meltdown at NCAAs last year but I was really impressed how he'd been a stud all year this year until tonight.
He should have run the 1500. He's not a 5k guy! Does really well in tactical 5's because of his speed. Sure he can 13:40 at Stanford, but that's still well out of contention at an NCAA Championship. Meanwhile he's sitting on one of the best 1500 times in the nation.

I heard commentary that Dunkley split a 44.29 on the anchor leg and I believe that watching it, he looked awesome

He was 9th, 7 seconds behind Cheserek.
mcbride gets some small measure of revenge on brazier, putting together a better split on the 3rd leg of the relay (45.21 vs 45.78).

The announcing is horrible. Dwight is aa color guy. The guy I did the Ivy League broadcasts with is great. They should use him and Dwight (well really me but I don't need to be in Eugene every weekend).
You have to have pbp guy. And then you need a color guy getting exicted.
I woul have been getting excited for FLorida , asking if they could have their cake and eat it too. Show some excitement.
Dwight again with Brazier breaking the World Junior Record.
Who's feeding him this stuff? How can Rawson not correct him? He has heard of Nijel Amos, right

Brazier has a legitimate reason for that, and his total times are still faster.
UVA 9th!
Suck it, Blacksburg!
So from a distance runner's perspective, I thought this was an awesome meet! Winning times for distance events this year
1500: 336
3000m steeple: 827
800: 143!!
5000: 1325
When was the last time we saw those strong of performances in all of those events at one NCAA meet? Well done men!
Lol
