I'll be entering my senior year on my cross country team and am looking for advice on my summer mileage. Last summer i consistently ran 40-50 mile weeks but ran my pr at the first meet in the season and was so burnt out and injured by the end of the season I had to take a lot of time off and missed most of the base phase for the track season.
Our xc team usually runs between 25-35 mile weeks and I'm pretty sure this big drop in mileage compared to the summer is responsible for burning out so early.
Looking for advice on what kind of mileage I should do this summer to stay strong and healthy throughout the full season.
