Spring 2016 Outdoor Track was my first time ever running track. I'm a 15 year old male in my sophomore year. I was put into the 800m and sometimes a 400m for relays.
Now that the season is over I can't help but want the next season to start so I can improve my time.
My 800m went from 2:36 to 2:22 (I know, Im slow)
I only have 1 recorded time of my 400 because my coach never wrote down the others from my relay. My recorded time is 59 seconds however I had a terrible stress fracture in my shins and wasn't really trying due to our team basically having a secured loss by over 200+ meters and the event wasn't even being scored at that meet.
I would like to run below a 2:00 800m by my senior year. I've already decided that for my junior and senior year I'll be doing XC, Indoor and Outdoor
My daily practice was my coach having us warm up with a mile and then sending us on a 4-5 mile run and maybe once a week we would do 2x300 reps as a speed workout or 100m sprints
I feel like this isn't very good coaching for the 800m and was wondering if you guys had any tips on what I can do to lower my time?
