Who runs to work and back daily?

I started running to work daily as a shakeout etc and now run both ways (4miles each way). It's an easy way to get extra miles and always makes me feel de stressed and great. I stash clothes at work and am lucky that i work for a sports performance apparel company and the attire is whatever the heck I want to wear. Usually shorts and tee or tank. There is also a laundromat across street so I can do laundry without bringing it home. I keep food for breakfast and lunch in the fridge so eat a full breakfast when there. I also sometimes get talked into a lunch time sloooow run w my buddy a xfit dude.

What strategies do others use to run to work? I couldn't imagine having to carry my work clothes on me everyday..

I ran at lunch. 11:30 to 1 pm every day instead of slabbing on the fat each day.

Ate a light lunch at my desk afterwards.

But if you gotta run to and from work drive in Monday, drop the clothes you need for the week and drive them home on the following Monday or since you live so close to work pick them up on the weekend. Or for the whole stop off pick on the weekend.

During the 1979 gas crisis a friend and I ran to and from work twice a week,

16 mile round trip.

Monday: bike to work run home

Tuesday: run to work bike home

Wednesday: bike to work, run home

Etc

Easy to bring a back pack when biking with clothes and food for two days.

Wouldn't work without access to a shower and locker at work. Also I can leave my bike inside overnight.

There is a drain and a 1.5 water bottle. I learned sweating in a tent in the desert you can take a very effective shower w 1.5 liters of water and soap.

I've run every day for 10 or so years. 5k each way.

I use a old MEC school backpack. I cut the cushioned laptop sleeve out of it, but otherwise no adaptations. Having a sternum strap, and solid (no stretch) lightly cushioned straps for your shoulders are key.

I carry clothes, sometimes some food. I've even carried a couple thermoses of coffee. I have a towel and soap at work, and I shower before my shift starts.

Getting a good bag is key. Most running backpacks I've used don't work well for this purpose. I would ride a bike if I didn't have access to a shower.
