This past week I ran about 35 miles and my hamstrings feel really weird. They're not strained and they're not really sore, but they just feel kinda heavy and sluggish. Whenever I go running however the pain immediately goes away and I feel great. This past week I ran about 35 miles and one of the days I ran 10 miles. My hamstrings have felt weird since about March (I pulled one of them in February) but it didn't affect my times at all in track and when I was running I felt fine. I took two weeks after track then started running again (35 miles last week). However my XC coach (this is my first year doing XC) is telling me I need to recover more from track so I don't get injured. I have a few questions.
1. Is the sluggishness in my hamstrings normal when running a lot of miles?Again it only feels weird when it is being rested but when I run I don't feel it.
2. When should I start running again?
3. Should I be worried about my hamstrings?
I could use any information possible I'm really trying to have a great track and XC season but I can't be injured. Thanks!
