Hello LetsRun,
I am mid-distance runner who just finished up my first season of college running. In cross country, I ran 26:55 for 8k and then in track I ran 1:55.5 for 800 (dropping over 2.5 seconds from my previous best) and 3:59.4 for 1500 (my previous best from high school was 4:26 for 1600). This was the first year I ran over 25 miles a week. I got up to 65 last summer, 55 during cross, and 40-50 during most of track.
So now that you know where I'm at as a runner and what I've changed in the last year. I was wondering what suggestions you had for my summer training. What type of mileage I should be doing throughout the summer, what extra steps I can take to get better, etc. in order to make the next step to go sub 26:30 this fall and sub 1:54 and 3:55 come spring.
