Why don't they have the Flotrack guys or the guys from the podcast House of Run do it? Just because you're a good runner doesn't mean you're a good speaker or analyst.
He will be fine! He should take some classes that help him speak on camera. It will help him improve more quickly.
I think he should do broadcasts a bit buzzed. He's too sober and over thinks things which causes the stutter. If he had a couple of drinks, he would relax and his thoughts would flow a lot better.
Does he have a high whiny voice, if not then he will never fit in as an ex-athlete color commentator. They have to have a high whiny voice in contrast to the deep resonant voice of the main announcer.
He's right where he wants to be at this point in the season. Good jaw velocity, looks relaxed. Talent doesn't go away.
He was pretty terrible. Too many "ohs" and "umms" and difficult getting out clear thought. He had some good insights, but could tell Cram was frustrated with him.
Webb needs to understand he needs to bring his "A" game, be very sharp and excited in voice.
At least there were two 3:46 guys in the pressbox. Would've been fun if they took shots at the slower miler, Seb Coe.
Webb obviously has a speech impediment. Public speaking is simply not for him.
