Uhhh, carbs are definitely their own food group. As is sugar. You cannot survive without either one, and each has been proven to benefit general well-being in correct doses. You should really read "Turning the Food Pyramid Upside Down" by Dr. Roger B. Douglass, it's some groundbreaking dietetics work.
