Hey everyone.
I am a student looking to go back to school in the fall but am unsure about what to pick as an undergrad. I have narrowed it down to either environmental science or kinesiology. If one were to ask me what appeals to me about kinesiology, I would tell them I enjoy the study of the human body, am passionate about science, love sports and enjoy being active. I recently took a biology course for upgrading purposes and not only did very well in it but I was extremely interested in the subject matter. I’m thinking something involving biology is in the cards for me if I decide to go the Kines route but I just don’t know what yet. I am also looking to see if the career path that I choose ultimately allows me to be financially stable (at least $40 000/year). I have done some research about the careers one can get with a Kines degree (athletic therapist, coach, gym teacher, personal trainer, strength & conditioning specialist, physical therapist, athletic trainer to name a few) but I don’t see myself pursuing any of them. Not to mention the fact that most careers in Kines require additional schooling on top of the Bachelor’s. Any information, insight or knowledge on how to navigate my career path with regards to kinesiology would be greatly appreciated.
