Anyone else doing the race tonight?
Going to be a hot/humid one.
I've never done it, any advice? Heard there are 25,000 people running/walking.

If you actually want to run, be sure to get VERY close to the front. Big races are always crowded, but this is a big race made up of non-runners. You're screwed if you start far back.

YES!!! Avoid the frustration of walking the first 100 yards unless you are in the first 2 rows.
This basically sums up every race over 1000 people.

Feel free to check in tomorrow about your experience. The race is a HUGE cluster and like the second poster stated, if you want to run fast get thee to the front.
Also, it's a notoriously short course, well at least it was when I lived there. I think one year it was 3.1 and the next 3.3. Hopefully they corrected this.
Ran the Rochester race with 12k on Tuesday, was 84/humid..... Good luck.
Knowing the course is short explains a lot! Always amazed at the times that get run each year. Made me avoid the race. That plus the "3.5 mile" race distance. Seriously is there any other race in the world run at such a weird distance?
I've run it many times. Not even chip timed last time I did it a couple of years ago. Everyone's time is gun time only.
At least there are some big BBQs in Grant Park and lots of food/beer.
No reason to take this one serious.
Just went outside, brutal out.
A woman I work with put her estimated time at like 5-minute miles (11-minute miles in reality) and got an elite bib to start up front.
I obviously didn't get that bib. Probably will go to the start 20-30 minutes early to get a good spot. Don't want to be behind walkers.
Tough run. Fell apart in the last 1.5 miles, very hot. Terrible course.
Got in line 30 minutes early, and still took 4 minutes to start. Passed a ton of people with 'elite bibs'.
A 39-year old died. Bad day.
Holy crap dude! Sounds like it was a total $hit show.
Looks like "Hey There Delilah" girl got 2nd
