Four years ago, I tore the meniscus in my left knee and was on crutches for 6 weeks after surgery. That resulted in a lot of atrophy in my left leg, and I haven't really felt normal since. I tore the meniscus again two years ago (two years after the first surgery), but that time they just trimmed out the torn piece and I was only on crutches for a day, and back running after a few weeks.
Even though I have been able to run the past two years, there is still a noticeable difference in how my right and left legs function. I feel like my right leg does most of the work when running, and that I cannot fully push off the ground with my left leg. I have done tons of physical therapy for the imbalance, but even after all this time it feels like every muscle in my left leg is just not firing properly. This is the case even just walking around, squatting down, bending over, pushing something, etc.
Anyone else have this problem? If so, have you been able to correct it?
