I've met Chris Solinsky and he did not appear to be as tall and as heavy as people make him up to me. The claim of 6'1" seems a bit much. Matt Tegenkamp claims to be 6'2" and is taller than Solinsky. According to USATF Tegenkamp is 6'1".

Solinsky is at least 5-7 inches taller than 90% of the skinny midget jogger dweebs here. To them, he is a giant, but to me (6' 160lbs) he is normal.
That white belt he was sporting at oxy plays with your depth perception.
People do exaggerate Solinsky's size. A lot of guys who want to be elite/sub-elite runners but are really too big (say 6' 2", 160lb) like to point at him and say, "see, I'm not too big! I'm Solinsky-sized! He's big, too, and he kicks ass!" Solinsky's supposedly massive size is a myth that these guys use to reassure themselves. Nothing wrong with that, but that's where it comes from.
So let's say Solinsky is 6'1", 165lbs. Even if he was 6' 170lbs. He would still look normal. Not huge. He would still be considered thin. Solinsky at 6'1", 165lbs. is pretty normal. He does not look huge at all. Yes of course when you compare him to a 5'3" 117lbs. kenyan he looks huge. Just like Bob Kempainen at 6', 155lbs was bigger than all the elite marathon runners.
dumb
Are you feeling insecure about your height/weight ratio or something? Solinsky is retired.

No, it ain't no myth, not even a Florida myth. Solinsky is massive, very massive... but you need to look in his shorts to see what I'm referring to. Take it from me, K.C. Anthony!

Wrong. In his prime, 5-10 years ago Chris was MUCH bigger. Let's say 6'4" and 190lbs were not out of the question. DUDE WAS HUGE! Reportedly benched north of 340 lbs
