ex-con looking to get into coaching - any advice

It's a long complex story but basically I unknowingly got caught up in some white collar crime and learned a very hard lesson. I'm no threat to people by any means and in fact have great people skills. I previously worked part-time as a PT so thinking I may try and get back into this but my real passion has always been running so would love to get involved in coaching track.

Guess if I look hard enough,someone is bound to give me a shot.

Put your head down and grind. You will get a chance eventually, it might just take a bit of time (i.e. years).

Unless your "unknowingly" can be explained simply and believably, I would suggest owning up to your crime.

Personally, I can't stand when people won't admit what they've done, but I do respect someone who owns it and sincerely is sorry.

Wouldn't hire the former, but would the latter.

What specialty are you looking to coach?

Your biggest problem with employers is that you haven't worked for 6 years, and not that you have been in prison.

I gotta guy who can get you a new social security card and birth certificate for $500. Probably your best bet.

Sorry, they don't send you away for 6 years for *unknowingly* being involved in white collar crime. What'd you really do?

Did you pull a Jericho Mile wile in prison?

Have you considered qirking in government? Lots of,positions coming available in Alabama and you have the qualification.

I know a guy that his been terminated by two schools for sexual harassment of students and he was able to find a coaching gig at a high school. So, I'm sure you will be fine.

Being a fitness trainer is likely your best bet, those guys are all crooks anyway. Then start volunteering at the local HS or college, or start a running club out of a gym.

Also in coaching, use your "Clink" experience as a life lesson, if you get an interview this will be seen as an asset in certain places.
