An amazing workout. Few runners all time could pull off that workout. The altitude, a 1200 in 2:47, the short rest, the 4 very fast 400m, the 4 very fast 200m all in one workout. Incredible. Yes. He's in shape to run the world record.
Consider a 2:47 alone is a time only a top miler can run. The 4 x400m run at short rest and high speed are more in line with a Rudisha type of runner.

Like i told the other guy, there is a cost AND a benefit that comes with altitude. How do you know that the cost outweighs the benefit? Some estimates put the altitude benefit at almost a second per 400m. He is also a speed runner, so the altitude isn't going to have as much of a penalty on him as it would for someone like Bekele.
That could change the muscular effort of the 200s from 23.x to 24.x (half a second) or the 400s from 54.x to 55.x (a second). Still a ridiculous workout, but a bit easier.

Well he didn't win Olympic gold and didn't get anywhere near the WR. 3:29 I think was his best. Shows that outstanding workouts do not always translate into competition.
