I'm a senior with last sectionals today, but i'm not running due to an injury. I'm running next year for a (somewhat) competitive club team. Anyway, how long a break should I take for recovery? I've run pretty much nonstop since LAST may, with no more than a week and half's break since then, and my last actual break was februrary. My legs are constantly heavy and tired, NOT sore, and I get out of breath when i start a warmup now, so I think i'm just overtrained both externally and internally. How long, and what should I do, for my break between now and summer running? Maybe three weeks with foam roller exercsies for legs and breathing exercises for lungs?
Any ideas?
