They finally reverted their stance but that was outrageous. It was all over the news.
Hey facebook. Newsflash: this is what real women look like:

Not everyone is a model.

Right. Not everyone is attractive. So why do we need to pretend that they are?
Most men, including myself, do not look like models either. I don't expect people to pretend that I an beautiful and put my face on advertisements.

I actually know some real women. They don't look like that.

That's not the point. The point is that facebook has a policy to deny ads that show women that have a muffin top. This is discrimination.
I am sure they have no problem showing anorectic women.
good fat people are disgusting.

Do you want to look at women with a muffin top all day? I sure don't. That woman in the link is an absolute pig. Disgusting. Like looking at Jabba. Maybe she's playing the female version of Jabba in the upcoming Star Wars movie. That would make more sense than whatever reason she was linked on here.
How about this plus size, and growing, woman. Would Zuckerberg let her in an ad?

The group did not obtain permission from the model to use her picture for advertising their event. The ad should be blocked for that reason if nothing else.
I don't like skinny stick women, but that fat chick is a pure pig. She doesn't deserve to be shown as she's a bad influence to kids and others. She is frankly unhealthy, just like the really skinny girls.

Another good point. Fat girls are unhealthy. Just like the really skinny girls. The recent fitness wave has helped rid of some of the anorexic models but the love your body no matter how fat attitude is not helping anyone. This is the first generation that will not outlive their parents, mainly due to obesity. If you're sick (which obese people are) you should try to get healthy. Many of these people develop diabetes in their 20s and will not live past 50-60 when life expectancy should be 100. That's half their life they're eating (or sitting on the couch) away. Sad but true.

This post needs a Trigger Warning!
Facts can sometimes be useful in discussions.
Facebook's rejection letter:
Facebook's advertising policy:
I honestly think that the fat acceptance movement is stupid. They deny any correlation between obesity and unhealthiness, and believe that diseases like diabetes are lies created by doctors. I get that fat people shouldn't have their lives ruined just for being fat, but this is a bit far.
That being said, I do not think that the original intention of the rules was not to 'discriminate' against fat people posting ads. My guess is that it was supposed to be targeting fitness ads that show fat people. (ex: fat guy in picture with sad face. Want to know how to get rid of it?) It just doesn't seem reasonable to have that sort of rule, especially for the general public to see.
She could be an attractive (yet fat) woman without those nasty tattoos.

Are you out of your mind?
My god she's a pig. We need to discriminate against fat people, because we taxpayers end up footing their massive medical bills when they're rolling around Wal-MART in their wheelchairs at 35-40.

Stop being so ridiculously PC. That pic shows a fat slob, and whether the person is M or F, thats just a fact.
Letsrun is a running website and you have the audacity to come here and ask us to pretend that "model" is what a "real" woman looks like? Seriously? Would you let your woman get to that size before you said something? Or would you pretend she was just in great physical shape. And btw I'd hope to Heaven she would say the same to me before I got there.
