I just finished my junior year of track with a PR of 4:43. I was happy with my progress from 5:03 sophmore year, but i know it's no where near competitive. I have never trained outside of the four months of training during track. Also, I didn't lift at all during the season and I am still fairly skinny. This upcoming year I am going to training extremely hard during the summer. I am doing summer track and then XC for the first time in the fall. Also i will do indoor track for the first time. I am going to focus on increasing mileage and building more muscle. I have never focused on training efficiently. With this preparation is it possible to achieve my goal? 4:24 is the qualifying time for states.
