Hey everyone. This is going to be my last HS XC season.
I started distance running sophomore year, and ran a 5K PR of 20:04. After training extensively over the winter, I managed to run 4:51 in the 1600. It was a pretty good improvement, and I was really looking forward to XC.
Over the summer between that track season and the upcoming XC season, I got a stress fracture - I was out for the whole season. Coming back after that, I ran 10:19 in the 3200m outdoors for track season.
I'm starting to look ahead to XC now. I'm making sure I don't get another stress fracture and mess this upcoming season up too. The issue is, I have no idea what I'm going to run in the 5K. Could you guys help me out? Please keep in mind that I'm going to train a ton this summer too. Quality mileage and workouts.
