I'm a 2015 HS grad, and right now I'm in community college getting geared back up for university (I ran and spent a quarter up at a local DII school, but left because I tanked a couple classes).
In any case, I'm wondering if anyone has any tips or experiences regarding getting back into/maintaining basic competitive shape. Should I just keep up in mileage, or sprinkle in some speedwork every once in a while? I intend to run a few 5ks and summer track meets in the meantime.
End goal is to walk on at Wash. State, I spoke to the coach and he says about 1:56/4:20 for 800/1600 is the right place to be. I am (was) at 1:57/4:23.
My apologies if my request is a bit ambiguous/jumbled.
