It's never good qualifying on time. But as far as the prelim is concerned. He passed and made the final.

1. 145-6 kids at his age aren't a dime a dozen anywhere in the world. I think most of the 145 teens in Africa are age cheats.

2. He's a bigg, big talent, the best thing that might have happened to him is to struggle this year a little bit. That way, he won't take success for granted. I always thought it was best in college to coach kids that had been injured before as they knew it could happen.

3. I don't think the injury is a great excuse as he came back and was competing within like 2 weeks of it. That being said, I always say you don't run well if you are sick or injured so I'm not 100% ruling it out.

Hopefully they can learn from this year and do it better in 2016. In my mind, it's another example of "Wow, I can't believe I've run so fast without speed work" is often a dumb thing to say as often times, you don't get a lot faster.

Completely agree with the speedwork comment. I chuckle every time a guy runs a huge PR early in the season claiming they "haven't done any speedwork" and then proceeds to never run as fast the rest of the season.

2) what have amos and kitum done in the last four year...only gotten slower
