It should be no surprise that Symmpnds tweeted it, and I normally find him annoying, but I have to agree with him on this. It is pathetic.

And how often does/has Bolt competed recently to earn that $200,000 and how do they know anyway what he earned for competing and endorsements?
I wonder what Symmonds thinks he (Symmonds) is worth?
I don't think 565 retweets qualifies as viral.
W/O the NCAA T&F, USATF, IAAF volunteers and officials there is no sport. You have to re-imburse thousands of us who spend countless hours for no pay to make the sport what it is.
Good points, but nonetheless, Bolt is still the biggest name in T&F. How is the biggest name in our sport only making 200k? What are the other top athlete like Rupp, Centro, Kiprop etc. pulling in?
And as far as Nick symmonds worth, just find out how many square inches of skin he has, divide by 9, and multiply by 21k.

Very skeptical of those numbers. The "source" in the lower right is too blurry to make out.
The bottom right says "dadaviz.com"
I assume that is where he got the information from.
LOL @ Nicky.
Nick is so poor. He needs money to lead the life of leisure he desperately desires.
This is the dude who tried hooking with billionairess, Paris Hilton. Nicky got rejected; lacking the proper size to spend a night in Paris.
Well, for one Bolt hardly races. Can't get paid if you don't race. Unlike team sports where there is a set number of games, in track an athlete can race as little or as often as he/she wishes. Bolt has a lot to lose, literally, by losing so he generally plays it safe. Only races top competition in major championships or the odd Zurich race.
Hard to believe he only made $200k in a year since his appearance fee for one meet is probably at least that
Yup, Bolt raced a couple of times for 10 seconds each time and made $200k salary. The others on the list play full games several times a week. I'd be willing to bet Bolt makes as much or more per 10 seconds of competing than anyone else. Not to mention his agent probably negotiated a much smaller base to open the door for larger endorsement/bonus money.

At least $200 for one meet, oh really, source?
but he said he pre-ordered the new Tesla. ($35k)i bet he's making money with RunGum if he's able to give some proceeds to Olympic trials athletes

Sounds to me like it shows how pathetic T&F revenue is

Symmomds are usually showing he either is clueless about his own sport, orr likes to intentionally mislead people like last year with worlds fiasco. Or both.
Bolt makes more than that in 1 meet. Here's a source with quotes from the meet director. He topped that in one race. If he only made 200k in one year from competing it would be because he pulled out of races and didn't compete.

Appearance fee isn't prize money.
That puts Bolt firmly in the average letsrun income bracket. Nothing to be ashamed of. I don't understand all the hate.
I am more curious as to how much the other professional T&F athletes make.
I know bolt is the highest paid T&F athlete, but most of that obviously comes from endorsements. Are than any runners making more than the "200k" that bolt is making?

Is nick that stupid.
Your an idiot.
Nick was saying that Bolt should be earning more.
