Good morning all,
After an initial block of winter/spring training, where I was running around 50 miles a week, I ran a 15:59 5km and a 32:48 10km; won two local off-road half-marathons. The times are both personal bests (down from 16:06 and 33:48 respectively) and I now want to know where to go to next in terms of training.
Long term, I'd like to run a good marathon in the spring of 2017 - probably at London. However, in the short term, I'd like to spend the rest of 2016 getting quicker and faster over distances from 5km to 10km and then later in the year 10 miles and half marathons.
At the moment, I do a speed session once a week which is intervals or reps; a long run of between 13-18 miles and all my other runs are tempo runs or steady jogs.
I feel that the one thing which has helped me is reducing my weight, which at the moment is 138lb and 12% body fat - at 5 foot 5 inches I'm not that tall - and the longer runs which are usually around 6:50min/mile pace.
Any advice would be massive appreciated: if you'd lke me to elaborate further on any thing I've ran, ask away.
