About me:
46 yo female
Sedentary
4 spinal fusion surgeries
1 hip scope
Fractured sacrum (in 2 places)
My last back surgery was 2 years ago in November. During that surgery, it was necessary for my surgeon to reach in and physically grab my spine and manure it back into place (my back was broken, and was in danger of slipping apart). When he did this, he said he is pretty sure that is when my sacrum was fractured)
My problem is that when I walk, my left hip feels as if it freezes up...or is exhausted- as after about 50 feet, I cannot take another step. At first I believed it was muscular, and then I found out I had a torn labrum. During the process of smoothing out the labrum to repair it, the surgeon said he nicked the cartiledge, but it shouldn't be a problem. After having that repaired, the issue was not resolved. After speaking to another specialist, he said he could "repair" it again, but if it didn't work the first time, it won't work this time wither- so I have left it alone. It hasn't changed- except that I have recently noticed that of I cough or sneeze when sitting or if I bear down, it feels like my hip is popping out of place. When I stand, it's ok. When I walk, I can't get far before that excruciating pain starts happening about every 50 feet. My back surgeon thinks maybe everything just healed in a different position than before, and says he can't do anything.
I don't know what to do...I don't feel old enough to be dealing with ANY of this-- I am on disability now and unable to work, exercise, or do much of anything. I am a little overweight and would love to exercise, but I am not able to.like I said, It has been confirmed that I have a torn labrum... but the doctors seem to think that isn't the problem. Nobody seems to be able to tell me WHAT I'm dealing with. Can anyone help?I am SO FRUSTRATED. :(
