I'm a 31 year old male who recently started eating better and run/walking few days a week with the goal of getting in better shape. I've lost 35 pounds in about 2 1/2 months and over the past two weeks or so pushed myself more to be able to run/jog a full 3.25 miles with the goal of completing a 5k (the size on my local greenway). On a whim I signed up for a 5k the day before it started this past week. I completed the race in 29:32 finishing 254/600 but 25/31 for males in my age group, it was an accomplishment to finish but now I want to improve. I have been running the 3.25 mi three times a week what is something else can I do to work on my time? Run longer distance?? What would be a realistic goal for the next 5k in 4 weeks??
