Ran 9:40 in the 3200 last week. This week we are beginning to taper and I have a big meet on Saturday where I'm doubling the 16/32. My coach is making it seem like I should have no problem going around 4:25 and dropping well below 9:40. Seeing as my last 3200 was the only event that I ran that meet, it seems pretty bold that I would be able to do what he said I can off of a double. Is a taper really that helpful immediately?
