Hello,
I've heard of a Doctor who trained few but very hard (apparently during his lunch time) some years ago.
He performed very well without drugs.
If you have heard about him, could you tell me his name and described the workout ? Maybe there is already a thread about.
Thanks a lot and sorry for my poor english.

Look up Sandoval's history. He was a Junior Nationals Champion as a senior or Stanford freshman in the early 70s. I think he was 4th or 5th in the Oly Trials Mar in '76. He had been a miler and 3miler at Stanford and had run 1:48 for 800m. Then he moved up to the marathon. He won the Nike OTC marathon in '79 in 2:10:20 and then the OTM in '80 in 2:10:20 (aided course). At that time only about 6 people had broken 2:10 for the marathon and many of those times were disputed. He went to med school in the years after and then resurfaced in 1984 and ran a ~27:46 for 10k on the track that Spring. Placing right near all the other Oly Team 10k favorites (Cummings, Salazar, Porter).
I think he was 6th or 7th in the Oly Trials in 1984. Then he ran again in 1988 I think. He was pretty old by that point but I believe he ran fairly well. He is one of the most talented distance runners that the US ever had. Unfortunately, he didn't run much track past college and his best period was 79-80 when we boycotted. I think he also might have been a great XC runner had he focused on that.
Yeah, I checked and he was 4th in '76 (2:14:58) and 1st in '80 (2:10:19) and 6th in '84 (2:12:41), did not see results for him in 1988.
