About five weeks ago I bought my first-ever pair of Skechers shoes. I was a bit skeptical but got a good deal on the Go Run 4 in my size (men's 7.5--I'm female but I have wide feet and men's shoes usually fit me better). The Skechers fit my feet great, are very comfortable, feel light and responsive--what's not to like? Well, just the fact that I run about 20 sec/mile slower at a given perceived effort in the Skechers than in my other shoes (Saucony Kinvaras and New Balance Fresh Foam Zantes). A ten-mile effort that would take 87 minutes in the Kinvaras is no better than 90 minutes in the Skechers; ten miles at 82 minute effort in the Kinvaras is over 85 minutes in the Skechers. I've run about 8 times in the Skechers now, rotating with the other shoes, so it isn't just random fluctuations. Has anyone else run in Skechers GoRuns and found the same thing?
