quick question - which is more accurate (if there is a difference at all) between creating a route on MapMyRun's website vs. a GPS watch?

bumping bc i am curious about this too
I've heard that GPS watches tend to under-measure distance
When I first got my Garmin Forerunner 225 I mapped out the course on MapMyRun to check.I got 5.02km on the Garmin on a course I mapped out at exactly 5km no MapMyRun.Keep in mind that the Garmin TRACK is not as accurate, but the distance is the same, which for me is all that matters. I actually do not look at tracks at all.Garmin uses elevation corrections as well so I believe it's more accurate than what I have mapped on MapMyRun.

Since Under Armor bough mmr the app has turned into complete shite.
I normally use the Usatf map instead of mapmyrun. If I want elevation though, mapmyrun is better. When I wore a garmin, they were extremely close. I rarely wear a garmin anymore because I tended to overtrain. Easier to just map it after the run.
I have a Garmin. My buddy has a Tom Tom. Mine seems to match up almost exactly with mapmyrun, his always seems to be a little shorter though.
