With that said, that is alot of racing. I am somewhat familiar with Region VI and recognize it as the deepest region in the NJCAA. Even still, the best athletes (future DI types) can probably tempo, or even jog the 10k (on the women's side) and race as needed in other events, and still be ready for Nationals.
Other athletes are probably over entered by coaches and will falter. To be fair DIs do this in conference meets all the time as well. Good coaches at both levels know the point of diminished return for their athletes.
Given your post alias of "Devilshocker" I would guess you already knew this...just because Allen is distance focused and has no shot at a team title doesn't mean Butler, Barton, Cloud and Coffeyville feel the same. It's like any NCAA conference meet...individual wins only mean something to teams with no shot at the team title.
