Our distance squad had been joking about doing this for awhile because our sprinters are garbage and we just wanted to see what we could do against them. We ran a 3:58 and lost by only 2 seconds!
Our splits were 1) 56 2) 62 3) 62 4) 58
First leg is a 4:54 mile guy, second leg is a 4:39 mile guy, third leg is a 5:38 mile guy, and fourth leg is a 4:57 mile guy.
Our 2nd and 4th legs had 5x800 work out at near race pace, a leg in the 4x800, and ran the open mile too all before the race. Our 1st and 3rd legs also raced in the 4x800 and the mile.
Does anyone have an idea how much faster we can go if we were all fresh and just did the 4x400?
