I had about a year of good running from Oct 2014 - Oct 2015. I built from about 30k per week to 60k per week from Oct 2014- to July of 2015. From July-Oct of 2015 I avg'd 60k per week with a couple weeks at 50k and a couple at 70k. Late October I developed plantar fasciitis and was basically off until late February.
I was following the Jack Daniels 'Blue Plan' during the span from July - Oct. In this time I dropped my 5k pr from 17:55 to 17:20. I expected more improvement.
I feel like if my body would let me run 100k weeks I could actually do some half decent times (by my standards), but I always get injured around about 60k and don't seem to be able to get past it.
What did you do to build mileage? How long did it take?
