What's considered the norm for high mileage running vs low mileage for running? I just got to 45 mpw and looking to work on my 10k this summer. Is this about right for the 10k training? Doing some 400, 800, and 1600 repeats once a week as well.

45 mpw would be pretty low for the 10K distance among competitive runners.
For the 10K you probably start hitting the point of diminishing returns somewhere around 50mpw. Anything over 60mpw is just to get small improvements.
I'll take those diminishing returns if you're not interested.

Really? I have found in my experience most competitive runners to be at 80 mpw minimum for 10k. I guess some less if they are younger or have injury problems. Over 80 would be considered higher mileage and under low. More like 100+ high mileage for 10k.

funny, i noticed i had insane improvements on 140mpw @ 5km distance. guess we had different experiences.
