Jager is also 7 years younger thanTeg, and 6 or so than solinsky. I think this is Ahmed's 3rd season and Hill's 4th season with BTC? What qualifies in your mind as an appropriate amount of time to be with a coach and pass as holding up well? Would be interesting to see injury trends with various coaches: vigil, McDonnell, Li, etc. Huling has also held up extremely well btw, especially for his age. This is a great conversation, by the way. Well done to the OP.
It's not age that matters. It's how long he's been with Schumacher. Teg and Solinsky were with Schumacher all through their collegiate and pro careers, and racked up 10+ years with him in total. Jager is of similar age to Hill and Ahmed (1-2 years older), but unlike them, he started with Schumacher at Wisconsin in 2007, and has been with him ever since. He didn't even bother staying at Wisconsin past his freshman year, and instead moved with Schumacher to go pro. In total, Jager has been with Schumacher for over 8 years; twice as long as either Hill or Ahmed.
That being said, Jager also spent a VERY substantial amount of time injured shortly after going pro. I believe he missed almost the entirety of 2010, and a big chunk of 2011 because of it. Fortunately for him though, he recovered well.
