While the modern reality of Physical Therapy could be seen as skewed by non-market factors: doctorate required, increased integration into traditional medical/rehab practice, full integration into insurance, greater acceptance of overall preventative apoaches, etc. with an average pay at $80k,
I wouldn't say they're overpaid. Dental hygienists make similar and are following either a short list of set protocols (floss, clean, x ray) or step-by-step directions from a dentist, with healthy pay subsidies from insurance. PT's are creating their own diagnoses, plans, and (now) required notes/paperwork.
