29:15? How bad do you think his endurance is? He ran 13:20 for 5k two years ago and supposedly has more endurance now... he'd run in the mid-to-high 27's I think.
I entered this into my calculations.
Centroids 3:49 mile is about 1 second per lap behind Webb. If this trend continues he loses 25 seconds over 25 laps.
27:38+:25= 28:03
28:00
29:15?? Are you kidding me?
27 mid for sure.
For 10k, I'm sure he'd sell some advertising on his skin
You guys saying 27:30 realize that that's a much more impressive time than his 5k pr, right? So basically you're saying that's he a better 10k runner than 5k runner, or you think he's in like 13:00 5k shape. Either way, I strongly disagree, and I'm sure Alberto Salazar would as well
26:59 because he's the next Solinsky
He will eventually be a better 10k guy than any other shorter distance. He was better at cross and the 2 mile in his and Oregon recruited him originally to be a 5k/10k stud.
if he trained for it, definitely 27:30ish. None of you are giving him the endurance credit he deserves.
I'm pretty sure Rupp is the only current US 10000m runner to break 27:30. Derrick, Kipchirchir, mead, true, all have bests right around that mark. Ritz only ran 27:22. I think people are underestimating how good 27:30 is. If Centro could run 27:30, he would be focusing on the 5k right now.

No, you just don't have any reading comprehension. The post said "right now" not "if he trained for it".
28:00 +/- 0:15

Why? Why wouldn't he be focusing on 1500m?

Just asked the same question ^^ he is playing to his strengths. And it also seems like he has been doing W/o's with Mo, so I think if and when he wants to bump up, he probably can and will.

Yeah I could see 27:30 if he spent a year training for it, but not off the training he's doing now

What does doing workouts with Mo have to do with anything? Doing workouts with someone doesn't mean you are in the same shape as them. Usain Bolt and Dibaba could successfully do 800m workouts together, but there shapes are total opposites.
using his 1:44.62 and his 3:30.4, I get:
100 0:12.22
200 0:23.06
400 0:48.68
800 1:44.62
1000 2:14.13
1500 3:30.4
1-mile 3:47.41
3000 7:32.63
2-mile 8:09.01
5000 13:13.98
10000 28:16.77
half-mara 63:50.72
1:43.5 & 3:30.4,
5000 13:27.64
10000 29:00.14
1:44.62 & 3:29,
5000 13:00.21
10000 27:38.52
1:43.5 & 3:29,
5000 13:13.87
10000 28:21.89

I feel like theyre both 3k-5k runners ideally
Well based on a rough formula I use:
3:30 and 13:10 gives ~28:10
