don't put the cold person into a hot bath
don't massage their limbs

don't give them alcohol to drink
Trying to warm someone up yourself with hot water, massages, heat pads and heat lamps can cause the blood vessels in the arms and legs to open up too quickly.
If this happens, it can lead to a dramatic fall in blood pressure to the vital organs such as the brain, heart, lungs and kidneys, potentially resulting in cardiac arrest and death."

Where did you read she had hypothermia? I only read that she got really cold.
Since you want to make this about reading comprehension, where did you read that I said she had hypothermia? I said no such thing. I have no idea if she did or didn't..
But, most likely, neither did the spectator in question.
I will say that the symptoms she described sound a lot like classic hypothermia:
"I was running really smoothly and starting thinking I could win it, but I realized that I couldn't feel my hands or feet anymore. . . .My vision started going black and I couldn't tell if I was still running. I stopped and started shaking so badly I fell."
Now maybe it was something different given she was running at marathon pace. But given those symptoms, sticking her in a hot bath was a risky choice, even if well-intentioned. Luckily it worked out ok.
