Good thread.
I like to document my runs with photos of where I'm running, but haven't gotten into taking selfies while running. Quite frankly, action photos or having a runner as a subject are a whole lot more interesting (I'll take photos of the group on a group run), and works better as art, than the still photos I take of what I see on runs. However, I somewhat agree with the general opinion on here, and I can't get myself to post a runfie to avoid looking like a d-bag, but I don't mind other people taking runfies - even with their look at me attitude - particularly if it increases interest in running and builds the running community. It really is a whole new modern form of art that I think can be appreciated.
Also, I don't mind running with an oversized phone - lets me capture random things I see on runs as reminders in the future, and I also use the phone as my watch (strava app). Gives me more joy in running than just my quest of breaking 18 in the 5k 15 years after I was an above average collegiate runner. Sometimes snapping a great photo mid run is more rewarding than hitting a great tempo run. Also, a phone could be good in case of emergency out on a trail.
