What will XC and T&F athletes train and compete in?
Are there any loopholes for an in-coming athlete to get around this new requirement?
Does UA make any spikes for distance runners?

UA has a mid-distance spike that appears to be the equal of anything Nike has. They don't have any super-light sprint spikes like Adidas, but they have plenty of football cleats.

Link? I'm skeptical of this claim...
3.7 ounces.
I don't see any field event shoes, though.
So if a company that signs a deal with a university can't supply all their athletes with appropriate footwear, are the athletes obligated to wear that company's footwear?
UA field event shoes?
UA XC race spikes?
As I recall, when Leo Manzano signed with Hoka, he was running in Nike shoes with the logo covered up for some period. I would bet that UA will have a full series of jump, throw, and hurdle spikes that they don't have right now by 2017 track season, but this kind of thing isn't exactly unprecedented.
I assume they will train and race in the same things as Wisconsin, Notre Dame, and all the other UA schools.
Trust me, Under Armour will be the #1 rival to Nike in terms of NCAA teams and elite runners in the next 4 years.
Have you never raced XC at a high level?
UA has a great XC spike here,

What are you looking for, clodhoppers?

HaHaHaHa
You do know that Nike's growth in the 1st quarter of this year was larger than UA is as a company? And back in the 80's folk said the same thing about Reebok? They may get college teams because of program wide tie-ins but it will not last long. And with adidas getting into American football they can battle for a distant 2nd. Elites? no way.
Saw Texas Tech guys run in various spikes today. Everything else on them was UA.
Navy and VMI, two UA schools wear ASICS for shoes by what I can tell.

Link is not found?
Do you have the complete link?

Shoes are not part of the uniform. You can wear whatever shoes you want. Again, key word here is UNIFORM.

I never said Nike was going to slip. but Adidas and New Balance will. Brooks and Asics are small fish.
I stand by my prediction. Maybe as early as 2020, but certainly by 2024, UA will have more Olympic qualifiers in track and field than any other brand other than Nike.

I get the impression from this that they will require the athletes to wear UA shoes/spikes.
"That means Under Armour will not only exclusively design and supply the footwear, apparel and equipment for the university’s student athletes, it will also provide student internship opportunities to UC Berkeley graduates and product discounts."

Uniform means exactly the same. Oregon Ducks don't all wear exactly the same shoe in competition.....not even in the school colors even on their shoes.
To force college athletes to wear a specific brand of shoe would make them professional athletes/endorsers. And college athletes are AMATEURS. Buddy Hield (basketball) can't endorse products. Buddy Hield is a slave/indentured servant.

But I'm fairly certain that all Duck athletes wear Nikes on their feet.

Jeeze that sucks. Nike loses the #4 university Olympic medal power to stink Under Panties.
I went to a UA sponsored university and our press release had the same language when we made the switch. It was few years ago and UA was barely even making running shoes at the time. The UA people asked our coaching staff if the team would wear test either their training shoes or the spikes and they turned it down.
There were also athletes on other teams wearing other brand shoes with tape over the logo because the UA basketball shoes, soccer cleats, etc. were total crap.
I'm pretty sure these brands can't require universal wear of a brand if they don't make necessary equipment. The swim team is usually still allowed to wear Speedo goggles.

This would be such a better option. I hope this is the case.
